sm-outside.jpgsm-reception.jpgsm-lead-team.jpgsm-meeting-space.jpgsm-supply-room.jpgsm-pastor.jpgWe’ve moved in!  Our new offices are at a GREAT location at Hwy 51 and Carmel Rd. Amazing! In the first two weeks that we’ve moved in we’ve already put the space to good use. We’ve had worship practice, a youth open house, a children’s ministry workshop, our Plug-In 1 class, and leadership prayer! We’re moving forward! God is so good!

sm-hot-potato.jpgAndrea Romines and Christy Wilson did an AWESOME job in Planet Kids yesterday! The theme for the month is “Self-Control” and “Bud Spud”, the hot potato, is teaching the kids the importance of SPUD. SPUD stands for self-control, pause, understand and decide. See www.252basics.com to learn more about the curriculum we use. It’s fun, it’s crazy, and most of all, the kids are learning how to apply the Bible to their lives!

sm-houks.jpgHere are Walt and Teresa Houk, leaders of the Life Group “Daytrippin’ With Walt.” They recently took us on a picnic to Nicholas Park in Salisbury, NC. What a great time we had! There was a gem mine, a train ride, paddle boats, nature trails, and so much more! So much fun!

sm_sp-am-study.jpgThe Spanish American Bible Study is one of the church’s Life Groups. Annie Gasser is the leader. Jose and Iris Santana are assistant leaders. I went to visit the group last night. I saw how God is using this group to reach Spanish speaking people in our community. God is using the relationship between Annie, an Italian from New York, and the Santanas, a couple from the Dominican Republic. The unity and love that they share is a tremendous partnership that goes beyond any cultural boundary. I’m delighted to say that God is using this life group to reach Spanish speaking people in the Charlotte with a powerful and liberating message from the Word of God. Praise the Lord!

May 11th was our celebration service in the new location, and it was a tremendous day! The worship was wonderful, and we appreciate Josh Lykins and the Worship Team for their part in the service. The message was powerful and relevant and fun to listen to. We had several first time visitors that we look forward to connecting with! We’re thankful to Don and Denise Burns from Austin who donated portable cabinets and equipment, Pastors Derrick and Sarah Turner of the Branch Church in Charlotte for contributing the stage, a businessman in Ohio for supplying the funds for the printing of the direct mail postcard,  Carrie Lantry from Celebration Church for the graphics, Copperbean Coffee for donating the great coffee for the cafe, and all the work the Ministry Teams from Life Church Charlotte put in to make this an amazing day!  Way to go team!

Several people from the church embraced the motorcycle theme and went with the biker look on Mother’s Day.                                                                                                                                                                                            smjames.jpg smmeltracie.jpg smlykinsstones.jpg
